Consultation with representatives/members of the public in formulation of policies and implementation :

While taking policy decisions on formulation of Production policy, Implementation of yield and quality programs, formulation of policy for registering traders, conduction of auctions etc, the Tobacco Board involves grower representatives of various soil regions, trade representatives, concerned State Government representatives, Grower and Trade Associations and People's representatives concerned if necessary. For that matter, on the Tobacco Board itself there are three members of Parliament i.e two members of Parliament elected by the House of the people and one by the Council of States and ten members from amongst growers of tobacco, dealers and exporters of tobacco and tobacco products, manufacturers of tobacco products. Hence, the Board, in relation to the formulation of its policies and implementation thereof, always consults the members of the public.
